About Studio Modulair
Studio Modulair is a bespoke furniture atelier in Cape Town. We design and hand-build solid timber pieces — drawn to your dimensions, made for the room they are going to live in, and built one at a time.

What we do
We make furniture to order, never to a catalogue. Every commission starts with a conversation about your space — the light, the proportions, the way you actually live in the room. From there we draw the piece to your dimensions, agree the timber and the finish, and build it by hand in our Cape Town workshop. Dining tables, coffee tables, consoles, bedside tables, storage and compactums: each one made as a single piece rather than a unit on a production line, so nothing is compromised for the sake of volume. If you can measure it, we can build it.

Who it is for
Our clients are homeowners, architects and interior designers who want a piece that fits exactly — a dining table that seats the whole family without crowding the passage, a console that meets the wall in a century-old house, a compactum sized for a room that was never quite square. Whether you are furnishing a new home, replacing something you have outgrown, or finishing a renovation, we build for real rooms and daily use rather than for showroom looks.

Who builds it
Studio Modulair is run by a small team of makers in Cape Town. The same hands that draw your piece are the hands that cut, join and finish it — there is no factory in between. You deal directly with the maker from first sketch through to delivery, which is why every commission is signed off stage by stage and nothing leaves the atelier until it is right.
